sk8kleen soaps and salves are hand-crafted in my garage in small batches. For the soaps, I use an all-vegetable clear soap base. I cut it up, melt it, add color and scent and pour it into the wheel molds. It sets up in about an hour, then I put it in the freezer for about 25 minutes, pop out the wheels, and them make more. rekt salve and lip slide lip balm are made from soy and olive oils that have been infused with comfrey leaves from my garden. I heat up the oils and add beeswax to make the firm consistancy then stir in the essential oils and pour into containers.

Ingredient Glossary

additives - grind has finely ground oatmeal and pool has little flecks of glitter.

beeswax -Cera alba - I use cleaned wax - no bee parts. Some people who are vegans won't want to use rekt or lip slide because of the beeswax, but, c'mon, what the hell else would the bees be doing?

color - pool, shred and sweet are colored with cosmetic-grade colorants. grind is colored with black mica and will not make your shower black.

comfrey - Symphytum officinale - I grow it in my garden, on which I never use anything but our own compost and non-toxic pest control.

fragrances - pool, grind and shred contain synthetic, cosmetic-grade fragrances. sweet has natural orange essential oil.

olive oil - Olea europea - expeller-pressed extra-virgin olive oil from Spain, Italy or California

orange essential oil - Citrus aurantium duclcis - This is the coolest oil - very concentrated so I don't have to use much, and the bad part - the part that can make you sensitive to the sun - has been removed.

soap base ingredients - Glycerin, Sodium Cocoate, Sodium Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Tea Laurel Sulfate, Sorbitol, Deionized Water, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Acetamide MEA

soy oil - Glycine soja - expeller pressed from soybeans

tea tree oil - Melaleuca alternifolia - this is one stinky oil. It is reported to be anti-microbial and the Aboriginal people in Australia have been using it medicinally for millenia. I use rekt salve on my own scrapes and other minor carnage - I have found that for me it helps keep healing skin from cracking and helps to ward off infection. BUT - please see note below *
