We sponsored the "Mighty Mama Skate-o-Rama" in 2005 and 2006. We donated 100 "Special Edition Singles mama" soaps. (pictured above) It's a great event - check it out here. I didn't go in 2005, but I did go this year, and it was awesome. It made the front page of the Los Angeles Times! click here to see article. I was very inspired by the women of all shapes and sizes and ages - maybe this is the year I finally give it a go...
History
I started teaching high school in 1985. There were lots of skaters - think Bones Brigade - and I loved watching them. I'd let them in to skate in the little theatre, up on the roof - all kinds of stupid places. They were great. There are four I remember in particular - Mike, Willy, Liza and Scott. I got the idea for sk8kleen® in 1998, and have been working on it off and on through the years. Friends and students and neighbors who skate have given excellent, helpful comments. In particular, Henry in Portland is giving us on-the-ground feedback.
